Apple iPad’s Share In Tablet PC Market Rose To 68%, Amazon Kindle Fire’s Share Fell To 4%
The market research firm IDC released a report today said the first quarter of 2012, Apple iPad shipments fell 20%, but the market share of the iPad has rose from 54.7% of the previous quarter to 68%.
The iPad’s market share increased thanks to the Android Tablet PC shipments dropped significantly, mainly the Amazon Kindle Fire. The first quarter of this year iPad shipments of 11.8 million units, while the last quarter shipments of 15.4 million units. while the shipments of Kindle Fire dropped from 4.8 million units of last quarter to 750,000 units in the first quarter, currently its market share only accounted for 4%. With the decline of Kindle Fire, Samsung has replaced the Amazon rose to the second place.
The annual growth rate of Tablet PC has reached 120%, but in the first quarter fell 38%. The release of the New iPad makes a lot of people wait and see and let the Apple iPad shipments sequentially dropped a lot, but in the whole tablet PC market, the iPad still plays an absolutely dominant position.
For the decline of the Amazon Kindle Fire, analysts say, most people only send the Kindle Fire to relatives as a gift, when actually use, we all choose Apple’s iPad. Therefore, in the non-holiday quarter, its shipments dropped significantly is inevitable.
